Having a Piper Alarm allows these people can continue living in their own home - rather than needing to move into assisted living.

What is Careline?
The Careline alarm is designed to help older, frail or disabled people remain in their own homes, with the knowledge that they always have somebody to help them in an emergency.
The Piper Alarm service includes an alarm base unit, which plugs into the telephone line, and a comfortable pendant which goes around the wrist or neck. All attachments are included in the Careline package.
The Careline alarm can easily be installed and tested by the user. Once the test is complete, the user will be connected to our 24-hour care team.
In an emergency, the alarm user simply presses the red button on their pendant and the Care Team will respond. The situation is assessed over the base unit's loudspeaker and help if found in the form of emergency contacts and, if needed, the emergency services.
24-Hour Care and Support
Our highly-trained Care Team play an important part of the Piper Alarm service. The team have been trained to deal with a number of emergency situations, so that they can reassure and advise in the best way possible. Our Care Team are available 24/7, 365 days a year to ensure our alarm users can always call for help.
When they receive an alert call, a member of the team will dial through to the alarm user through their base unit loudspeaker. They will ask the user what has happened and if they're ok, before calling for help.
They will call for emergency contacts - friends, family and neighbours - and ask them to attend urgently. The emergency services will also be contacted if they are required.
Emergency Contacts
We reccommend that all alarm users have at least one emergency contact on their Careline profile, if possible. If you don't think you're able to list an emergency contact on your loved ones new Piper Alarm, we advise having a Key Safe in place which can be bought online at the same time as the alarm.
Alarm Base Unit
The Piper Alarm's base unit acts as a communication hub between the user and the Care Team. Installed within a few minutes, the base unit has a built-in microphone and loudspeaker, allowing for clear conversation. It has a 40-hour, rechargeable back-up battery which will boot-up if a power cut occurs.
Wearable Pendant
The Piper Alarm Pendant, also known as the MyAmie, can be worn around the wrist or neck. It's waterproof for use in the bath and shower, and a long range of up to 100 metres. In an emergency, the alarm user simply pushes the red help button and an alert call will be made through to our Care Team.
Fall Detector Pendant
For people who are prone to falling, we advise upgrading the Piper Alarm so that it includes the Fall Detector Pendant. The Fall Detector can be worn around the neck or wrist and should automatically detect a fall. Should this occur, it will send an alarm call through to the Care Team.
