4 Myths About Personal Alarms You Should Dismiss

1 – They’re expensive and overpriced
One of the common myths is that people think personal alarms are expensive and overpriced. This isn’t the case. At Careline, we provide the UK’s cheapest prices with plans to suit every individual. We have three different types of plans which include:

The third plan is the Fall Detector Plan. The Careline Fall Detector plan is for those who want all the benefits of our standard alarm with the added security of a fall detecting pendant. The Careline Fall Detector Yearly Plan includes:

- Careline Vibby Fall Detector Pendant – can be worn as a necklace or around the wrist as a bracelet/watch.

2 – They’re difficult to set up and install
Contrary to belief, our elderly personal alarms are very simple to set up. We provide guidance every step of the way with informative printed materials and instructions from our customer service team upon order.

3 – Uncomfortable and unattractive to wear
Another myth! The pendant alarm is actually very small and discreet. It’s also lightweight, so you’ll never feel your wearing it. The pendant is wearable in a number of different ways. You can wear it around your neck on a neck cord, on the wrist with a wrist strap or even on a belt clip.
In a standard white and red colour scheme, with rounded edges, it’s by no means ugly, nor uncomfortable to wear. You can even wear it in the shower so there is no need to constantly keep taking it off.
4 – Myself or my relative won’t use it
There might be a bit of stigma revolved around an elderly personal alarm, and we understand that some users might be at first too proud to admit they require one or may express they won’t ever use it. Unfortunately, the elderly are suffering from more falls than ever before. The NHS say that around one in three adults over 65 who live at home will have at least one fall a year.
